Whitewater

Whitewater began as a forge-welding experiment with a ~20% chance of success. I was inspired by Don Nguyen and Halcyon Forge’s Eva, featuring a bright strip of nickel running through a dark CruForgeV blade. Before welding up the billet, I found a piece of my 10-layer Damascus that would fit the material needed for a Nakiri.

In order to achieve the look I wanted, I would have to forge the blade against the forge welds, meaning that with every hammer blow, the billet would attempt to rip itself apart (hence the 20% chance of success). I named this knife Whitewater after the turbulence in the Damascus created during the forging process; I had expected pinstripes near the edge of the blade but was pleasantly surprised at the added texture.
