Vector

Vector was my first commission for a good friend, Ramy. Ramy was trusting (or stupid) enough to commit a sizable portion of his signing bonus to buy one of my knives without having seen pictures or even a sketch of my work.

I decided to reward Ramy by making some Canyon Damascus, a process where you hot-cut a 100-layer billet vertically to create the illusion of a canyon running from the bolster to the tip of the knife. I added extra layers of 1084 and 15-layer Damascus to the edge to ensure that I had enough material for the large chef’s knife he wanted.
